Covid-19 Safety

We are taking a range of important Covid-19 protective measures to help our staff work safely and to help our customers shop safely. If you have any questions, please contact Customer Care at customer.care@hummingbirdbakery.com.

Customers

Please follow us on social media for updates concerning bakery reopening dates and for current opening hours. These will vary from bakery to bakery.

All branches will be takeaway only (no eat-in option) and delivery until further notice. However, collection will be available in-store for online click and collect orders placed on our website. There will be a selection of freshly baked products on the counter for takeaway and a limited number of whole cakes available for walk-in purchase. We recommend ordering online for collection where possible.

Napkins, forks and sugar will be kept behind the counter. Please ask our team if you require anything.

Reusable cups will not be accepted for the time being.

Contactless payment will be encouraged. Please pay contactless where possible.

A limited number of customers will be invited into our stores at one time.

Perspex screen guards will be in place around the till to ensure added protection.

Distancing floor markers will be placed outside to indicate where to wait, observing the two-metre rule.

Hand sanitiser gel will be available at the door for staff, delivery drivers and customers.

Rigorous regular cleaning will be carried out daily throughout the bakery to ensure surfaces are sanitised frequently.

Staff

All staff that have returned to work were involved in a two-way consultation process and have volunteered to return to work. Full training has been given to returning staff members on matters such as social distancing, hand washing, cleaning and using available PPE.

Counters, where possible, have been moved forwards to allow for more space behind the counter for staff to distance.

All our teams will have PPE available in Front of House and Kitchen. Washable face masks, visors and gloves will be available. Kitchen staff will be given aprons.

As per our rigorous food safety policy, all staff on the premises will be asked to wash hands frequently and have been given training. Soap and hot water handwashing sinks are available in both Kitchen and Front of House for staff to use.

Training will be given to staff on safe social distancing and how to use PPE.

Start and finish times for staff will be staggered to avoid peak travel times.

All staff will have their temperature checked prior to starting work each day.

Distancing floor markers will be provided to help staff maintain safe distance.
