The Hummingbird Bakery is proud to share its support of the Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust. We have pledged to make ongoing cake and product donations to the Trust and have added an optional donation button at the online checkout for customers.
Founded to honour the memory of Stephen Lawrence, who was murdered in 1993 in an unprovoked racist attack at the age of just 18 in South East London where he lived, the Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust works to create a fairer and more inclusive society.
Stephen aspired to be an architect and to shape the world around him for the better, but tragically he was never able to fulfil his ambition. The Trust was established in his name to inspire and enable young people from disadvantaged backgrounds aged 13 to 30 to succeed in their career of choice, regardless of their race, ethnicity or background. It empowers communities to tackle disadvantage and discrimination and works tirelessly to create a fairer society, where everyone can fulfil their dreams and potential.

Cake Donations
We have pledged our long-term support to the Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust from September 2020. Our bakers will be providing freshly baked cakes, cupcakes and products from our kitchens as refreshments to the Trust’s meetings and events.

Charity Cupcake Collections
For charities wishing to collect our unsold cupcakes, we do offer this service for free at the end of each day. Please contact our Enquiries team at enquiries@hummingbirdbakery.com to book a charity collection. Collections can also be booked via the Food Drop tech platform – please see below for more details.
Please note that numbers can’t be guaranteed as these vary from day to day.
The Hummingbird Bakery also uses the Food Drop tech platform, which aims to reduce food waste and support local charities in the process through surplus food item redistribution. We use their system to help charities book free collections of unsold products at our bakeries. This ensures that our leftover products go to those who really need them.
